Travels in March & April
South America & Local Photography
South America I spent most of March travelling through Peru, Chile, Argentina & Brazil taking in some iconic locations such as Machu Picchu, Iguazu Falls, Sugar Loaf Mountain, Christ the Redeemer, Copacabana Beach and many more. This trip was made especially enjoyable because of the other 23 people in the group who were supportive & friendly especially as this was my first long distance solo trip. I'v set up a temporary section of a selection of images. This will close in July and relevant images moved to theWorld section.
Back Home During April I've been concentrating a local captures apart from a few days in North Wales. I've been trying to perfect my slow shutter speed and minimalist approach. I'm pleased with the minimalist images taken at Cropston & Swithland Reservoirs in Leicestershire and the ones at Penmon Point on Anglesey where I parked the Campervan for the night planning to take pictures of both Sunset & Sunrise. I'm pleased with the results. Afterwards I moved on to Snowdonia, where the weather was perfection for a nice holidays but the light was too harsh for photography. Still managed a few pictures.
Took some time to explore Belper. I'd driven through the town many times but never stopped to explore, so glad I did.
At last I timed to perfection the search for wild garlic in flower at local woodland, first time in years I managed to do this.
A location I've been to number of times Magpie Mine in the Peak District. On this occasion with colleagues from Ockbrook Photography Group. The light was good including the sunset. The main purpose was to light the old mine worked at dusk, something I hadn't tried before. A Selection of images for all my local and Welsh trips can be viewed in the New Work section.
